This is alarming. The NTSB is vital to the safety of the public and a member may be removed only for "inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office." If the president can remove board members arbitrarily, that puts the independence of NTSB investigations and recommendations at severe risk.

Safety of Americans, especially children, at risk with Trump proposal, advocates say
A proposal to to eliminate the U.S. Product Safety Commission has consumer advocates sounding alarms. We explain why.
For parents, especially, the CPSC has been instrumental in ensuring that many of the products that children use, such as cribs, strollers and toys, are safe "because of the strong mandatory standards," said @wwconsumer.bsky.social, CR’s director of safety advocacy. (via @usatoday.com)

Save the @cpsc.gov (even if it isn't yet verified) to keep the epic safety memes going strong. As a bonus they'll keep deadly baby products out of the market, and halt dangerous dupes at the border. Plus, who else will remind you to install window guards or anti-tipping anchors on your furniture?
