A fake ICE tip line reveals neighbors reporting neighbors
A Nashville comedian’s deportation hotline, set up as a joke, has gone viral among viewers who say it shows the “banality of evil personified” in the U.S. immigration crackdown.
New: A comedian set up a fake ICE tip line as a joke. Then 100 calls flooded in: neighbors ratting on neighbors, a teacher reporting a kindergartener. Fans say the viral TikToks revealed deportation's "banality of evil." Conservatives say he should be in prison wapo.st/4kM4qbF

One of the things that personally drives me crazy in the U.S. is how youth sports/athletic activities went from a part of the public good (municipal leagues and fields! rec centers! public parks!) to a privatized, expensive, highly competitive, highly structured pursuit for wealthy kids’ résumés

The other major federal data source with e-bike-related fatalities has also changed to capture fewer crashes
"FARS and CRSS are no longer collecting motorized bicycles as motor vehicles... Any traffic crash involving only motorized bicycle(s) will no longer be captured in FARS or CRSS" ...

In the current moral panic about e-bikes, it is frustrating that data on e-bike-related injuries and fatalities is threatened
I can't find an update to this story, but this data was key to the CPSC's last look at e-bike safety www.bicycleretailer.com/sites/defaul...

This isn't what SCOTUS *said* (they said nothing) BUT the Court's "passivity"-deciding not to decide or say anything - helps the executive branch aggressively characterize & implement the Court's orders.

Trump admin issues new policy aimed at ending transgender-related care in federal prisons
"It's a really dangerous policy,” an ACLU lawyer representing trans people in federal prison suing the Trump administration tells Law Dork of the new Bureau of Prisons policy.
More than a year after the Trump administration was first sued over its anti-transgender prison policies, DOJ literally showed up in court Thursday morning with a new policy — and it is even more anti-trans, aiming to end trans-related care in federal prisons altogether.

To fight (Congress) or not to fight, that is the question
D.C.'s elected officials need to decide whether to defy Congress – or defer to it – over a tax bill.
Defy, or defer? D.C.'s elected officials are trying to decide whether they should fight Congress over its resolution repealing a local tax bill. Some say fight, others say the risks are too great.
