Love the idea of storytelling as a practice that can ground many different audiences in why a topic matters! #literacies

I heard a piece of advice recently to not be afraid to tell friends about the jobs, fellowships, scholarships we apply for, even as we worry about getting our hopes up or “jinxing” it…transparency helps us get the emotional support we need! I definitely struggle with this! #literacies

It feels like the cliché holds true that being on the job market is like a job in itself! #literacies

Colleagues of mine have given practice job talks and invited close mentors, friends and colleagues to gather feedback and re-create the more public feel - I have loved attending those and seeing the “drafts” behind the finished product! #literacies

So excited to see the whole @writinglit.bsky.social community in LA this year 🎉 I would also be curious (in light of this conversation) if #literacies faculty had ideas/advice about navigating conferences while on the job market as well.

It’s so helpful to hear from folks who are in the midst of this process as well! It sounds like many institutions follow similar timelines but it’s not at all an exact schedule #literacies
