With AI booming, NJ is a growing data center hub. But what about electric, water use? New Jersey now has more than 80 data centers, many clustered near Manhattan. Critics worry about their potential to hike electric bills for residents.

NYC used to send NJ its trash; now we get its garbage data and higher utility bills.

I would like 1) not to grade/work/plan on weekends/vacations and miss important family and down time and 2) have health insurance for my family. Those desires are mutually incompatible. This is about universal health care.

Americaโ€™s Children Are Unwell. Are Schools Part of the Problem?

This is a solid critique but fails to mention that much of the stress about college has come from defunding state schools, making college both a economic necessity and an impossibility, in an age of rising income inequality: www.nytimes.com/2025/11/24/m...

I know two out-of-state college students coming back to vote because their mail-in requests were not received (and a third who never received her mail-in ballot and is distraught but canโ€™t make it back). Their votes will be just before 8 pm and count. They care that much about this outcome.

NAACP sues Virginia officials, accusing them of disenfranchising student voters The NAACP has sued Virginia state election officials, accusing them of disenfranchising students by rejecting voter registration forms from students that do not include details like dormitory names, room numbers and campus mailbox information.

GOP-led states are blocking college students from registering to vote with campus addresses.

In the context of broader attacks on vote-by-mail and early voting, these efforts will systematically disenfranchise young people across the US.

In NJ, my own son in college out of state and that of a colleague sent in mail-in ballot requests with plenty of timeโ€”and the request was never received. They are each able to take a few hours trip to vote in person. But I wonder about other stories of college aged voter disenfranchisement in NJ.

Bike ride through Jersey City turned harrowing. Light turns green, I go straight in left side protected lane. Pickup truck driver sees me, then turns left; I brake hard, wheel goes up, near miss by inches. No amount of infrastructure can help drivers who canโ€™t see over windshield. Ban light trucks.
