No more noble British tradition than resigning over some nonsense everyone is only pretending to be angry about rather than all of the actually bad things you've done.

When my parents got married they both had several hundred records on CD and vinyl. There were something like 5 duplicates, one of which was Rumors.

You talk as if we got here by accident and not by the leadership of the party insisting that this was the only, mandatory option and that any dissent made you a freak extremist crank.

So we're just supposed to forget the butchered Palestinian children and the constant attempts to signal that you're on the side of bigots where queer people and ethnic minorities are concerned? I wouldn't piss on your sorry excuse for a party if it was on fire.

The reason you're seeing liberals come out of the woodwork lately to accuse leftists of "having a Nazi problem" is because they know that historically, it's always been liberals that made alliances with Nazis and fascists throughout the 20th century. Why? Because they feared socialism more.

All this "internet poisoned communists are gainsaying The Movement" would hit harder if mass mobilisation under liberal slogans had come to anything before. If people are effectively converting turnout into organisation that's great, but I'll wait to see that before I expect anything substantive.

Political parties must shift immediately and dramatically to the left to avoid alienating these frustrated and abandoned young women. Am I doing this right?

Are the edgy leftists in the room with you, or do you just mean "extremely-peripheralized minorities I got mad at online?"

Seeing a lot of posts like "they want say we are angry, but we showed them we are all about joy"

It's ok to be angry, too. Anger is necessary, actually.

it is really amazing the amount of vitriol some people have for socialists when, ostensibly, their biggest point of disagreement is just "I don't think we can afford to do those things". it's almost like they disagree with the other stuff too

We‘ve lost one of the most foundational unifying aspects of being British: our shared hatred and distrust of everything yank. No wonder we’re all so divided

She also didn't like it when I pointed out how her "radicalised by midlife setbacks" tweet applied to her own divorce and transphobia. Not interested in engaging across political lines in that instance!

A key takeaway for people nostalgic for a return to Blairism: You are getting it. The guy who is driving the government is an obsessive Blairite, was groomed and mentored by Blair's key strategist and right-hand man, and every reorganisation pushes the party further in that direction. This is it.

Tbh i don't think we can afford all these prime ministers pensions when the average term is becoming less than 2 years.

The old axiom that you ought not attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity has a great big massive hole in it called 'malicious stupidity'
