Just finished reading And The River Drags Her Down by Jihyun Yun and good god that book slaps so hard. It was the perfect balance of tension, terror, and grief. It came out today—go get your copy!

This was such a fun read. I highly recommend it! Charlotte Stein writes some of the horniest books and this one is no different. Happy book release date!

Hit day 10’a #1000wordsofsummer by journaling which is what I need with all this anxiety. Hoping that the words give you what you need today.

Friends day 9 of #1000wordsofsummer did not happen for me due to lots of chaos but I’m determined to get back into it this evening.

Day 6 of #1000wordsofsummer was spent doing a 1033 dump of everything making me anxious right now and I feel a lot better after that.

Day 5 of #1000wordsofsummer completed. 1044 words that happened quite quickly. Hope that the worlds flow freely for all today.

Day 4 of #1000wordsofsummer is done with 1003 words. I really didn’t want to write after work today but I got home, grabbed some iced tea, and reminded myself that I didn’t have to write but I was lucky that I got to write.

There’s always a new day to try again. You’ve got this!

After a brain melting day at work I wasn’t super excited for day 3 of #1000wordsofsummer but I reminded myself that taking this chunk of time is a way I show up for myself. 1016 words done.

Day one of #1000wordsofsummer completed at 1,163 words. Last year I didn’t keep track of my total words written and regretted that. This year I’m excited to see how many words I get on the page. Wishing everyone a creative and joyful challenge.

Revisited an old story idea to see if I should dive into it during #1000wordsofsummer and I really need to give myself more credit. There’s some good stuff there that would be fun to play with and expand. Made a list of a few scenes and I can’t wait to let the story take me where it wants to go.

I was worried about this last year when I did the challenge but I found that after a few days it wasn’t hard to hit 1k. Now were all those words usable or perfect? Nope! But it was a push that helped me realize if I didn’t put words to page I couldn’t edit and make it right.

Tomorrow, a certain online mega-retailer launches a book sale, just days before Indie Bookstore Day on 4/26. This is no coincidence; Bookstore Day is one of the largest revenue drivers for indies.

Indies need our support to thrive & build community spaces for all...mega-retailers do not.

Okay when I was dipping my toes into F1 I remember reading a few and being like okay! But I know that as a strategy critique queen I could never now. Except for Andie J Christopher’s next book. The rest of these authors are giving these drivers way too much free time on race weekend😂

She also did a novella To Win a Witches Heart that’s like fantasy boat racing and the MMC is very much Lewis inspired. It was F1 with magical pirate boats. I really enjoyed it.
