Initiatives like the fantastic Super Saturday on Bexleyheath Broadway are a great way of keeping our high streets vibrant and as hubs for the local community.

The pandemic reminded us just how important parks and green spaces are to physical and mental well-being. In Bexley and Bromley we not only have such beautiful parks, but incredible volunteers who help look after them. Fantastic to see them recognised.

Sadiq Khan is running out of other people to blame for his failings. We cannot restore faith in the police by making them feel more distant or shut off.
The Mayor must abandon these plans.

Fantastic to see the beautiful Lesnes Abbey Woods recognised an "an invaluable green lung in a very urban area" with "excellent management and fantastic community involvement" as part of its well deserved Green Flag Award.

Alison is Chair of the Friends of Coney Hall Recreation Ground: raising tens of thousands of pounds for the transformation of the park.
They have both made a lasting difference to the local community.
For Hayes and Coney Hall ward: Councillor Alexa Michael and I nominated Dennis Moor and Alison Regester for recognition.
Dennis served as Chair of the Coney Hall Village Residents Association for many years, before stepping down earlier this year.
Bromley is blessed with so many incredible volunteers, who do amazing work from looking after our parks to caring for the vulnerable.
We celebrated them earlier this week at the Mayor of Bromley's reception, which was a fantastic event.
Moving service at St Pauls Cathedral to mark 20 years since the London Bombings; remembering those who lost their lives, and thinking of our emergency responder and those whose lives were permanently changed.
The service included the release of 52,000 petals in memory of those who were killed.
Absolutely loved this wonderfully fun event in Downe. Only in Britain would we have crowds of people chasing rubber ducks down a village street. Had so much fun.

When Councillor Jonathan Andrew's first told me Downe has an annual duck race I had to make sure I went along to see it! While my ducks didn't win, I had an amazing time at this quirky event.
Thank you to the volunteers who organised. The race raises money for the Village's Christmas lights.
While most other Councils are shutting their libraries, in Bromley we are refurbishing them and bringing them into the 21st century to serve the local community for generations to come!

The Bexley Civic Pride Parade is one of my favourite events.
Always wonderful to see our voluntary groups, uniformed services and cadets come together to celebrate Bexley, and mark the start of the new Civic year.
Sadiq Khan is letting TfL bonuses balloon while our roads crumble and, the trains are falling apart and covered in graffiti. He must get a grip on TfL's finances.

Kicking off Armed Forces week with the flag raising service in Bexleyheath this morning.
Our armed forces make huge personal sacrifices to serve our country and this week is an important celebrating of our veterans, serving personnel, cadets, reservists and their families.
Adding Thamesmead to the rail network is a long overdue correction to a historic mistake. But the Mayor should be more ambitious! Lets bring the extension all the way to Belvedere so it can connect to the National rail network.

The problems with our housing market go beyond number of units. Building more alone does not address underlying issues.
Shared Ownership should be a middle-ground to help people get a foot on the ladder but as a model it is broken and needs fixing.

I can't recall the last time I went on social media without seeing about someone's car being stolen. So good to see our local police out in Hayes giving out items like faraday pouches (which prevent key signals being manipulated) and useful information on securing vehicles.

The Deputy Mayor for Transport has replied to me to say the recent dangerous break down in Shortlands was an "isolated innocent".
Passengers and drivers alike know the new 358 buses are always breaking down. TfL need to get their heads out of the sand.

It's time UK athletics came home to Crystal Palace!
Fantastic news that work is now starting on the upgrades to our National Sports Centre by:
🏊♀️ refurbishing(and reopening) the 50m swimming and diving pools,
🏀 enhancing the facilities and pitches and,
🏃♀️improving the athletics stadium.
Congratulations to the new Mayor of Bexley Christine Catterall and Deputy Mayor Janice Ward-Wilson. Excited to work together in celebration of Bexley.

Bexley projects have recieved over £8k from the Port of London Authority's 2025 Active Thames Grant.
I visited Re-instate in Erith (Awarded £5k for their 'Living Active' programme) to hear how they improve the lives of SEND & autistic individuals, and those struggling with mental health.
Congratulations to Councillor Jonathan Andrews on becoming Mayor of Bromley this evening and Councillor @gemmajturrell.bsky.social on being made Deputy Mayor.
Having both the Mayor and Deputy in their early 30's must make them one of the youngest Mayoral teams in the boroughs history.
Our precious Green Belt offer those living in Greater London so many benefits; from acting as the lungs of London to providing accessible open spaces for people with no garden.
