Had a lovely time with my daughter at University of Edinburgh's Open Day today. Did similar with my son 2 yrs ago. Never expected so many modern uni buildings; somehow, I thought it would be much like the Old Town! We really liked the place. And it was so nice for me to feel like a student again! ☺️

And going from pneumatic headphones to electronic ones was such a game changer! That was the reason we switched from BA to CX when they started their London route from HKG in the early 80's 😊

I remember going from bulkhead screens to seatback ones, where you can choose, pause, etc. It was such a novelty back then!

They had that configuration on DC10s too! It must be torture to be in that middle seat of the 5 onna longhaul. I wonder who thought of that....

Thanks! It's from Uniqlo in HK. They have a 'build your own' printed T shirt service via one of their tablets. Choose size, choose print, adjust size/position of print on shirt, and it will be ready in 30 mins! Your local Uniqlo might have this too! 😃

Coming to LAX to plane watch had always been on my bucket list! I'd choose the 747 for nostalgic reasons for I used to fly on them much. The last time on them was on LH's upper deck. It was a bit tight in space and a bit noisy compared to the A380, which I'd choose now for comfort.

2nd meal prior to landing on JX2. Another quality offering! The salad was fresh and crisp. Baked French style egg was not overdone. Brussel sprouts + mushrooms might look odd, but flavours were good. Fresh apple and pineapple juice, the illy espresso and fresh bread all add to a very nice meal 😋

My dinner after take off on JX2. I pre-ordered the lobster linguine. Soup was delicious, but could be hotter. The scallops were succulent and sweet. The lobster was a little over done. Hard to get right in the air. Pasta had good flavour. I chose the gelato combo and fruits to finish, both so good!

My biz class seat on Starlux's A359 has this huge cupboard, which can hold the headphones, a bottle of water, slippers, amenity bag, my charger, my book, my glasses....so useful!! We were given pj's. Contents of the amenity kit is good. These seats are quite private even when door is opened.

These are the first class seats on Starlux's A359. Intriguing. They are the first row in the cabin with higher backs. Size looks the same as biz seats behind, but the price difference is huge. All down to the ground experience maybe?

Our Starlux A359 flying us across the Pacific tonight. Space travel theme in the cabin with metallic look finishes. Love a side lamp, which adds a warm touch. Huge hi-res screen which is super responsive. Comfy seats, esp when in Zero G position. Sliding doors a bit token. Pity only one window.

Lounge food at Starlux's T2 Galactic Lounge. A plate of tomatoes, quail eggs, cucumber, okra and corn in a sesame sauce. Dan dan noodles and a pepper beef pastry on a tray. A glass of sweet Moscato sparkling wine.

Our next flight is on Starlux's A359 to LAX. Some delicious food and a good shower beforehand in their lounge is a must!

This is our third time landing at TPE in as many weeks! Nice to see Taichung on our way in. Just love being above the clouds in the bright blue skies 🥰

My pre departure drink on CI904 from HKG-TPE. Because we were switched onto this flight a few minutes before flight closing, we were told there would not be enough meals onboard for us. They gave us food vouchers at HKG instead. Hence, we just had cocktails and snacks onboard.

Lots of leg room. Huge pocket for storage. Small touch screen. Rather laggy. Small shelves in centre console for storage.

Control buttons for seat. The remote controller has a retro curly cable like telephones of the older days!

China Airlines' Skyteam liveried A333 (B-18311) has a rather retro biz class. Not been on these angled lie-flat seats for years! Love the huge legroom. Those small baggy screens look somewhat cute. Likewise those control buttons and that curly cable for the remote 🥰

The post typhoon chaos at HKG didn't dampen our enthusiasm for our next stage of our trip. We were originally on CI's A321Neo, but, with our connecting flight at TPE, the agent put us on an earlier, itself delayed, flight just in case. A Skyteam liveried A330 it was!

We didn't hold a big party in a huge mansion.....so not quite crazy rich!! 😉😂
