New preprint! :) : "Insertion space of repulsive active matter". We show that the presence of activity, weak or strong, increases the total insertion volume and its connectedness. Our work extends equilibrium concepts of stochastic geometry to active systems. arxiv.org/pdf/2509.081...

Scientific problems have but a few viewpoints where the entire solution reveals itself and shines bright, also uncovering seemingly unrelated truths. These good viewpoints are equivalent to perceptive questions, and asking these Qs should be the major preoccupation of scientists.

Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified π₯³
