Itβs a think piece about the coming end of British colonialism and the uncertainty of a post-Mao China juxtaposed against the tension of international diplomacy solved with splits and spinning heel kicks.

What Schwarzenegger Knows About George Washington
The former California governor is the latest to recognize that the most remarkable thing about the first president was not how he exercised power, but how he yielded it.
At the annual naturalization ceremony at Mount Vernon, Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke of George Washington's ability to conceive of leadership not as a pursuit of power, but as civic stewardship. Craig Bruce Smith says this vision matters now more than ever:

My favorite line that didn't make the final cut for my Atlantic article on Arnold.
When discussing Schwarzenegger being influenced by GW's example:
"After all, who doesnβt remember Arnold giving up power and surrendering the last CPU into molten steel to preserve the liberty of humankind?"

What's the first thing @schwarzenegger.bsky.social thinks of when he hears the name George Washington?
Check out my @theatlantic.com article for the answer & more from my exclusive interview w/ Arnold at Mt. Vernon
Spoiler: it's the 1st thing I think of too!
