I'm all in on watching reviews, retrospectives, or long plays of games instead of playing them. There's no way in hell I'd sit through something like Dreamweb or Time Gate: Knights Chase from the '90s, but toss me a 2-hour breakdown, and I'll devour it while knocking out some chores.

A ★★★ review of The Blackcoat's Daughter (2015) Un viajecito de ritmo pausado, atmósfera densa frente horrores que se invocan frente a la soledad. Me cae bien este chabon Oz Perkins, eh.

A slow-paced journey with a dense atmosphere, where horrors emerge from solitude. I like this Oz Perkins guy.

A ★★ review of Terrifier (2016) Se destaca cuando abraza su alta extrañeza y la incomodidad, pero se hunde rápidamente en la tortura gratuita, sin contar nada realmente interesante.

It stands out when it embraces its high strangeness and awkwardness but quickly sinks into gratuitous torture, without saying anything truly interesting.

Neat, restrained, and with a delightful set design. It's more substantial than the fan service everyone points out. Fede Álvarez blended 50% of Ridley and 50% of Cameron while infusing his own traumas and concerns, as every author making an Alien film should.
