Did the cup robot tutorial on YT just to get the fingers moving again in Blender. It could be better, I know, but the exercise was more about me learning those keystrokes again.

A piece of blue painters tape will hold it in place while the canopy dries.

I suggest a thin bead of white glue for the canopy as it won't haze the clear as superglue will. Alternatively I use two part 5-minute epoxy for everything else.
