There’s going to be some huge upsets at the Oscars tonight but I’m getting the sense that the big one could be Fernanda Torres winning the Madison v Moore battle for Best Actress.

I’m expecting a weird night at the Oscars. I think Demi has the Best Actress momentum, Eisenberg could pull off an Adapted Screenplay surprise, and The Brutalist is essentially getting a runners-up prize with Best Director. With that in mind, I can’t see Anora taking home Best Pic as its only award.

Among everything else, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is making me laugh out loud more than any other modern video game has this side of Yakuza.

It looks certain that Anora is taking home Best Picture. I didn’t love the film but I’m also kind of rooting for it. An eccentric, independent movie made by a good dude who has been working hard in his own lane for the last 20 years. That’s exactly the kind of thing I want to see win an Oscar.

This is heartbreaking. As a Prince super fan and someone who thinks Edelman’s OJ documentary is one of the great achievements of the last decade, I really hope this isn’t the fatal blow it sounds like.

This reminds me of Spike Lee’s quote from a Q&A a few years back who said not being political is in itself a political choice.
