Had such a great time this weekend at one of the MANY local No Kings peaceful protests in my area. Love this sense of community, the energy, the passion, the humor (some of these signs crack me up), the art... Just like with Hands Off I left inspired and feeling less alone. 💗

Being dismissive toward parents who are quoting state laws with specific code numbers and dates they were passed is probably a good way to get the superintendent called on a local principal... just saying...

So proud of my kiddo. Apparently she was asked on a worksheet yesterday what she knew about George Washington. She opted to say that he had dentures made from the teeth of his slaves. Could have said any of the easy stuff. Went with the messy.

weren't coming out correctly at first. "You need all the dots to make the image complete. Every dot matters". Such an important thing to remember when they try to divide us. Every dot matters and has a purpose to support the bigger picture.

Had a great time at the #HandsOff protests in Redmond and Seattle yesterday. Adding sunscreen to my bag for next time though. It's so important to remember we're not alone in this fight. These events help remind the community of that.

The 1st ammendment extends to everyone in this country. Not just citizens. As a legal green card holder he should not be treated differently. He has just as much right to protest as i do as a citizen. This is so messed up.

J and I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark with N tonight like we did with her sister around this age. We've got a fan. She was even interested in the mini history discussion we wound up having to help fill in the context.

Also, when one member of a married couple passes, the surviving member keeps the benefits that were higher of the 2. So depending on the age difference, could show a larger age than reality.

If you haven't already, please contact your House and Senate representatives. Call, email, schedule appointments and show up in person. Anything to make sure they know how serious their constituents are that H.R.22 and its companion bill, S.128 not pass.

If passed, they would disproportionately harm young & older voters, naturalized citizens, voters of color, women, trans/gender non conforming voters, adoptees, & voters with low-incomes—those least likely to have easy access to or resources to obtain documents like passports or birth certificates.

The SAVE act would cause voters to need either a passport or a birth certificate with their current name to prove their citizenship. This would cause millions of married women to be purged off voting roles unless they know and can afford to either get a passport or amend their birth certificates.

I think sometimes people get so focused on trying to do things at 100% that they forget that even a 10% drop can have an effect. I ran into that myself when I tried to cut everything off all at once, then had to work my head around a moral way to still engage.

I'm having the same struggle. I know Bluesky is working on a replacement to Instagram they are currently calling Flashes, but who knows how long it'll take for that to come out and meet the same need. For now I think what we can do is engage less with FB, not click on ads or use the marketplace,
