I don’t think it’s fair to say it wasn’t the intention. Trump is anti-immigration in general. His disdain for legal Haitian immigrants was on full display during the election campaign, for example. He repeatedly calls all undocumented immigrants rapists and criminals. Intent seems pretty clear.

Never loved Trump, and I despise him because of his hateful, racist rhetoric, his bigoted world-view, his selfishness and greed, his dismantling of abortion rights, his misogynistic words and actions, including but not limited to promoting sexual assault. Musk supports right wing speech, none other.

As an addict in recovery, I have sympathy for addicts. But Musk? Nah. I don’t care who that makes me unpalatable to. I don’t need to be digestible. I stand by my words. If Musk kills himself via his ketamine use, he receives not a drop of pity from me. Recovery is available, esp to those with money.

My neighbor had been granted asylum, and yet it didn’t make any bit of difference with the stroke of a pen from Trump. He’d been, by your definition, legal. I expect no less from version 2.0

He’d been here for 20 years. Married an American, had two children, owned his home, owned his own business. Had spent 25k on immigration attorneys in the prior two years. Until an asylum seeker is granted asylum status, they’re seen as illegal. When Trump rounded up immigrants during his first term, many were doing everything right, including going through the legal channels, but were considered “illegal” while fighting for their asylum status. My neighbor was one.

The worst insult one can throw towards a right winger is, “Your values are not Christian values,” because to them, Jesus would’ve scoffed at immigrants, denied the poor, dismissed gay people, and controlled women. With that said, I’m glad I’m an atheist who believes Jesus was a leftist.
