Thanks so much for reposting. It is a novel in which I have told the story of two birth mothers and what happens after their loss and,later,when their children come searching. I hope i have done them and us (I am an adoptee) justice. We need our stories told, even as fiction.

@bbcnews has become the mouthpiece of the far right. Just look at their so-called entirely unnecessary ‘investigation’ (it’s a police job) and that they can find little to say of positivity about the Momdani’s landslide. Who paid for the ‘investigation’ I wonder?

Yes it means that it is seen as intentional behaviour not ‘an illness’ or a ‘he can’t help it, he has a syndrome’ kind of thing. It’s good bcs it means the judge must assess each case and the behaviours involved on a case by case basis and not be beguiled by quasi medical psycho babble

Use two wellies… put them down on their side along the walls where the mouse is and it will run straight in. Take welly outside and leave it for a few hours. (I learnt this from the housekeeper of Dashwood House when eavesdropping in the queue at the butchers ☺️)

It was. I did my best. It broke my heart that job, day on and day out. But their courage and bravery inspired my book and I thank them for that.
