So the courts handed another win to Big Tech.

Funny how that always happens.

Congratulations.

We've now entered the era of "Modern Hieroglyphics".

The scary part is that i remember people being confused about the icon's origins as far back as 20 yrs ago, or "one-child-fully-grown-to-college-tuition" ago.

ok – *technically* a β€œfloppy” but everyone called them hard-disks because they were made of rigid plastic, unlike the floppy-bendy 5.25-inchers they supplanted that you could snipe a section out of to defeat the early DRM security.

Let's say it how it is -

People who were BORN when these disks went obsolete could have children in MIDDLE SCHOOL right now.

FYI - not a "floppy", a 3.5-inch "hard disk". The 5.25-inch floppies were long-dead tech by the time MS debuted Excel & Word.

Transgressive & silly; no one took them seriously. Kids have always loved poking fun at the standard & then turning the world on its head for a moment for a laugh. Cuz its safe. Only a few bent-head adults could see it as the end of the world. Being so manic as to put them to the fire? THAT’S scary.

"Skip meals and eat cat food so rich men can buy bigger boats for Christmas."

Surely a winning strategy! Everyone at Mar-a-Lago says so!

Is it just me or does that curled leaf steal the show? It's like a frosted horn-of-plenty photobombing on daisy! Beautiful find, beautiful shot!

It's super great work & you deserve the acknowledgement. Thank you for sharing what's close to you with all of 'us'. People tend to take it for granted when posts & artworks are here, there & everywhere, but it's really a privilege & we ought to recognize it now & then.

According to the Stasi's own records they had about one agent for every 66 citizens.

If part-time agents were factored you could see rates as high as one agent for every seven citizens.

And if you were on their radar for *any* reason you could guarantee there were multiple agents assigned to you.

I would love this for the blue alone! It's a stunning shade & the yellow is the perfect complement to bring-out the blue in all its glory. The patterns & overlays give it such a sense a depth, too.

As an abstract it could be anything but i think it doesn't have to be anything but what it is- beauty

But the classics always have a way of coming back, like brownshirts and 'Roman' salutes. I'm pretty sure it won't be long before she reminds us that leopards don't change their spots and that frogs should never trust a scorpion, no matter what it promises.

Absolutely stunning. If you haven't run across them before give Niggyl here a look. An incredibly gallery of landscape shots that will draw you in for hours.

"Art" might be a hard thing to define, but you know it when you see it. And you're seeing it here, folks, in all its blazing glory -

So beautiful! You have such an eye for picking shots. Incredible work. Your talent comes through. Absolutely criminal you don't have tens of thousands of followers yet but if you keep at it i'm sure you will.

Venezuela needs to start painting murals of Trump & Epstein on top of their key buildings. That way, if they get attacked, Kegsbreath can't put it on Twitter for the lulz. Defangs their propaganda value, which is the Regime's only point for this latest fake war.

She began her career as the Queen of the Extreme Right, she of the space lasers and The Great Woke Scare.

Today's she's the lib-wing of the republican party.

But she didn't change a beat. The Party moved the goalposts (it's what they do best).

Absolutely charming! You've managed to add so much 'character' into the characters. The subtle details can make a big difference.

Mad-love for the hotfixed napkin dispenser on the counter. Yet another little touch that adds so much -

Oh-my-god! That’s it! That’s insane! I barely remember it & never saw or heard anything about it in the 40-odd years since!

I stg you’re like an unofficial second branch of the Smithsonian for American Children’s Memorabilia.

How did you ever get into β€œthis” when so many just play, toss, & forget?

It's incredible how much the art & expectations in Europe changed between the time of Ruben's parents and the era of "Two Satyrs".

I had a board game themed off Dracula around then. Don't remember the name or objective, but it had Dracula's head & if you landed on a "whammy!" square you had to stick your finger in his mouth & press a button. If you were lucky, nothing. Unlucky, he bit & you got 2 red bite marks on your finger.

β€œBait”

Like a lanternfish, but one that crawls down the chimney to wait hidden beneath the tree for any children foolish enough to start their Christmas morning too early ...

Love the eye. Very focused, intense, with edging that complements the angled teeth, eyes, and holly. Screams unsettled.

I think later writers tried to replicate that sense of standing in awe before the vast & unfathomable over & over (Genesis Device, the Whales, Fake God-Dude, the ribbon-time thingy, etc) but never quite hit the mark.

Always shooting, never hitting.

I recall Nimoy saying TMP was about the mystery & coldness of space while TWOK focused on people & emotional heat. To me, TMP best exemplified ST. It made you feel insignificant & near hopeless against an unknowable force of unfathomable power

Figuring out the message before dying was the best part

They put some thought into this! Plus, i love the idea of someone digitally knitting sweaters, mittens, and a proper muffler for a mouse. I want to see that on someone's resume one day.

I saw that last night! What's your impression been?

Cozy-cozy,
cozy with a "dash of pepper & salt",

or "Don't Starve"-levels of stress & dear-god-dont-let-the-fire-go-out" but hey, it was fun?

I was thinking of mentioning it to someone but they don't deal with stress too well ...
