The Haar by @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social is really everything I want out of a horror novel. Thoughtful, incredibly human, and downright disgusting.

It’s so far my favorite read of the year and one I’ll likely be talking about for some years to come.

Well, I suppose I’m done buying ebooks on Amazon. That’ll make my year of indie a bit tougher, but if you have recs for indie authors on Kobo or other platforms let me know!

I have been DNFing books like a motherfucker this year, and this is my gentle encouragement for you to quit books the same way. Reading should be fun! Don’t kill the joy because you’re forcing yourself through something you don’t vibe with.

I wrote so much tonight my hand is cramping 😭 but I’m almost done with the setup of this new book, so that’s something, yeah?

I’m currently reading Titan Hoppers by Rob J. Hayes and I will be picking up Skysworn (Cradle #4) in a few days. Then I have Dungeon Crawler Carl on deck as my next audio read. I’m fully committed😅

There is something so fundamentally satisfying about progression fantasy I can’t even articulate it. I can’t believe I’ve robbed myself of this pleasure for so long.

This game itches a part of my caveman brain so thoroughly it terrifies and thrills me all at once.

Sick today but that’s actually giving me a chance to force myself to sit down and read 😅 and just in time because my book is getting interesting now!

I read 20 pages 😭 I did end up DNFing a book, so I can count that as finishing a book right?

On vacation this week so I’m hoping to get some reading done and knock out a book or two. Granted, I say that a lot when I get time off 😅

I feel like I’m gradually being told by the universe that Bluesky needs to be my main social media. Meta’s AI shenanigans are just ridiculous at this point.

I’m only a few chapters into both, but I’m enjoying them thus far. Still wrapping up Morningstar too because I wasn’t able to wrap it up before the new year.

Am I the only book lover who doesn’t ask for books for Christmas? I generally don’t trust other people to buy books to my taste, and I love the dopamine hit of getting a book myself.

Am I the odd man out here?
