We lost almost half our women’s health docs to bigger cities due to pay. There is also another reason that I am not willing to talk about publicly, although it is public knowledge at this point.

But I digress. My groceries today for three meal preps was $38. That includes ONE pork chop. (4/)

And still having to shell out $50 for the scooch-tissue paper-little (big) pinch-scrape experience is insane.

Meanwhile? I’m seeing a locum — which, while most are AWESOME — is a healthcare system’s “rent-a-doc” program. (3/)

How finite? I had to cancel a doc appointment today because I couldn’t afford the copay.

It’s 2025. The fact that insurance doesn’t completely pay our (ahem) annual exams is ridiculous, considering I’ve done the walk of honor for a woman in her early 30s who died of ovarian cancer. (2/)

So on top of everything, my property taxes have increased exponentially. My home insurance jumped by almost $5000/year.

I’ve a VERY finite amount of $$$ after mortgage, utilities, and dog food are paid for.

Happy to pay school taxes, but the increase of 26 cents on the dollar is killing me. (1/)

My mom and stepdad’s mailing address is technically Robert Lee, TX. They live in a different county, closer to San Angelo, which is 43 miles south. No doubt in my mind that Robert Lee was named for *that* guy.

The thought of a required lunch break are the stuff of legend. With Medicaid cuts because of the Big Bullshit Bill, the hospital for whom I work will see a revenue decrease. This means that we — already stretched thin — will be expected to do even more with even less. (2/2)
