Iceland is kinda like a 'what if' scenario from an alternate timeline made manifest. what if we all weren't such huge dicks to each other? here, have a tiny glimpse of what life could be like.

I'm trying to see it as a eutastrophe; the people advancing our understanding of neural nets will no longer be asshole capitalists, but unless this brings huge reforms, they'll still be around to fuck everything up later down the line.

The part that i truely hate is that people are going to sour on the very concept of complex automation and artificial intelligence as a field of research because a bunch of technofascists jumped the gun trying to invent superintelligence for the worst possible reasons.
