Audible currently lists those titles as “narrated by virtual voice”. But you could see a scenario where Celeb A gets paid handsomely to clone their voice in exchange for slapping their name on the product. Some companies already offer dead celebs as a voice option. Ghoulish.

And you won’t find any sources because of ironclad NDAs that prevent them from even admitting they were involved. But if you’re acquainted with some of the top names in the industry and you compare them with Apple’s AI voice offerings, it’s…pretty clear. 🥴

Absolutely love this. I've read a lot of very clearly defensive work these past few years - like, "I can pick out exactly what Twitter thread this paragraph is responding to" kind of clear - and it's ruined so many books for me. Begging authors to stop writing to criticism.
