Obsessed with this song and have been down a Mike Patton rabbit hole these past few days.

Vicki has to remind me of this often. We’re in all sorts of feelings about this, and Yet! We must press on with everyday life. And we can’t let Trump keep us from having genuine times of happiness in the midst of all of this.

It’s not easy but you do what you gotta do.

The Imago Dei trumps all political theory and ideology. We take care of each other in all aspects, through any means, whether private actions or gov’t policy, because we are all made in God’s image. And that is the only reason we need.

If you’re a Christian who’s willing to believe that a loving God will send some ppl to an eternal hell, then frankly you can stomach heavy handed, even harsh criticisms towards voting for Trump and/or Republicans.

A robust and well-funded welfare state along very generous workers’ rights, is the *bare minimum* for a morally sound and well functioning society.

Liberation theology is and should be an indispensable and necessary characteristic of the Christian faith.

Mood

Working from home means comfy outfit: hoodie, pj pants, Xmas socks, and slippers.

I really enjoyed it. The ballet dancers were impressive and fantastic.

So many horrible things being done by Trump and his cronies, and I wanna yell and scream at all the people who voted for him, and Yet!!! Will that actually help things progress in the long run? Not really, and so I must use better methods.

In the past, I’ve been volatile and insulting to ppl of differing political/religious beliefs.

I’m trying to stop that as it’s unhelpful. But I struggle with knowing if/when perhaps “biting remarks” are necessary.

Times such as these… idk 🤷🏻‍♂️

If the Democrats ever get back in power and along the way, grow a spine, their first order of business:
Pack the Courts with progressive/left wing judges. At all federal levels. Republicans are breaking so many rules of gov’t. The least Democrats can do is bite back in kind on some things.

All in all, it’s a mixed pot of good & bad. The costumes are great, atmosphere more surreal, which plays well. But the pacing doesn’t allow you to draw out a lot themes & character development. Plus by the end, it plays the White Savior Card, thus missing a key Dune theme.
