I’m really lucky to have talented friends (several of whom are editors) to review the garble that falls out of my head and hits the page. It very much takes a village.

The saga continues. The beta reader editions of Shadow ended up shipped to the wrong city. So I’m still waiting to get the hardbound versions of the betas. Le sigh. Some of my beta readers have been great sports and are starting off with the digital version.

The question there is, is exaggeration the truth?

To revisit an old adage, what do we gain by becoming them? And more importantly, what do we lose?

True. My only point is that they say enough garbage that we don’t need to amplify the sensationalized stuff in the same way they do. We can and should be more vigilant.

Fact Check: Women’s birthing-duty quote misattributed to US House Speaker Johnson U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson did not say that a woman’s duties include giving birth to able-bodied workers, according to his spokesperson, despite posts online sharing the quote.

According to Reuters’ fact check, he did not say this, and they found no evidence of him saying this. He’s made comments about abortion linked to a lack of able-bodied workers, but not this actual quote.

Pig and I shan’t be riding Monday, and that’s a bummer for me. Still, he gets detailed today, so Tuesday will be a good day for getting back after it. It looks bleak for 10k miles this year, but every mile is a good mile with Pig.
