My understanding is that they are ending single title e-book purchases. They will offer a huge annual subscription instead. Ebsco actually sent out a response within an hour of the Clarivate announcement yesterday, saying that they are not changing their ebook acquisition models at all :)

Their new subscription models sound like a disservice to community college libraries that won’t have the budget for such a large product, nor need the upper division resources included. Looks like Ebsco will be gaining even more ebook business from the smaller guys.

Today is the day they come for libraries. Library of Congress is also trying to ram through changes to the controlled vocabulary that all libraries use, in a single day with little option for meaningful discussion on implications, as has always happened in the past.

LCHS is a controlled vocabulary that almost all US libraries use to describe, classify, and organize their materials methodically and collaboratively. Huge changes like the ones proposed are complicated and typically take years to discuss and implement, not hours/days.
