My pet peeve is sports writers using multiple alternative names for teams in order to avoid repetition. So, the team name is used once and thereafter it is replaced by an out-of-date nickname, or by a past achievement ("the 2023 champions", for example).

Ninety seven times out of a hundred there are more effective ways of starting a sentence than with a numeral.

I'd spend the money on a replacement for that clunky keyboard instead.

Nobel Peace Prize 2025 live updates: Venezuelan democracy activist Maria Corina Machado wins Nominations closed in January but US President Donald Trump had led a public campaign to win the award.

Given his opposition to the Venezuelan dictatorship, this is impossible for Trump to argue against - genius from Nobel - an element of subtle trolling that hammers home the committee’s pro-Democracy message twice over with just one decision.

I thought they might do something more imaginative, now that Ray Darcy is gone. Cuddihy could have taken over the two slots and presented a more wide-ranging show. Instead, they're sticking with a tired format. Disappointing.

Two slots. Perhaps he'll do both.

Very much 'former' Israeli spokesman. Levy was suspended and then dropped from his position following complaints from the UK government in 2024. He has no credibility.

I assumed he was quitting the race so he wouldn't have to pay it back.

He was way out of his depth, aside from the money scandal. This reflects badly on MicheΓ‘l Martin.

What ruined Google search was prioritising ads in the results. I don't mind the AI summary as much.

It sounds utterly boring. I can't figure out what point Sheridan is trying to put across. β€œWe’re not saying he didn’t do it,” Sheridan says. What is he saying then?

Humphreys needs to stop being a government spokesperson; Connolly is doing well but should stop saying "military industrial complex"; Gavin is just not up to it.

Mondrian, perhaps? If he used pastel paints.

I used to have a fairly large framed Rothko print on my living room wall. I had young kids at the time, and a favourite jibe of a couple of my uncles was, "Which of the kids did that?".

For an agreed left candidate, she really is making it hard for Labour and Soc Dem supporters to vote for her.

Britain's Graham Linehan (who now lives in the US) also said: "The idea that Jimmy Kimmel is some sort of hero of free speech is quite absurd," according to the same report. So much for keeping satire alive.
