This site allocates #nycprimary super PAC spending to donors, in order to graph which donors are for or against which campaigns, rather than which super PACs are. (May take up to a minute to load: free host.) Suggestions for improvements are welcome. super-pac-app.onrender.com #civicdata #opendata

Thanks for all the great reporting from @thecity.nyc. The NYT editorial also neglects to mention that - even if neither Cuomo nor Mamdani win the primary - they will still both be on the ballot in the general. Instead, they frame a choice not to rank Cuomo or Mamdani in the primary as irresponsible.

Thanks for posting this: before the sale ended, I picked up this Birdie and Chick hat as well as these sweet looking panda stickers. The Cable one really got me when I first saw it. 🙂

The orange and yellow armband is a nice contrast with the rest of the uniform. Neat symbol, too.

Active Sidewalk Shed Permits

The DOB has a nice, city-wide, interactive map of active shed permits: all 9,025 of them (2.1M feet) with an average age of 487 days. The map can be filtered by permit age, each marker has details on its shed, and the underlying data - which is updated daily - can be downloaded. tinyurl.com/shed-map

Office of the City Clerk - New York City

Surprised to find out that electronic copies of transcripts from @council.nyc.gov cost $20 per hearing and need to be requested from the City Clerk. Couldn't they be available at legistar.council.nyc.gov? cityclerk.nyc.gov/content/transcripts-of-city-council-proceedings #transparency #oversight #nyc

A mountain graph estimating available sources of energy for New York State, during a winter week in 2050, during which there are limited quantities of sunlight and wind. The graph includes a space that denotes the energy needed in addition to the limited quantities produced by wind, solar, and other sources of clean energy.

A mountain graph estimating various sources of clean energy produced in New York State in a spring week in 2050. 5 of the 7 days have excess energy from renewable sources. The graph posits that long duration storage solutions will be in place to capture the excess energy for use at a later time.

Fig. 34 (NYS Climate Action Scoping Plan App. G 12/22) projects that a stable capacity to complement wind/solar will still be needed in winter 2050. Hi Richard, those are both excellent questions. I looked before posting the link and saw room for improvement in the Representative's effectiveness (might be due in part to the ambitiousness/unpopularity of some proposals 🤷). Curious to hear your thoughts about H.R.7569, H.R.7782, and H.R.5154.

Thanks for posting these. I didn't know Halouze. The first one reminds of George Barbier, but that might mostly be the clothing. I really like the second one and the simplicity of the fourth.

Hi Martin - I understand the criticism in your comment, but I wish we could try to make social media more civil, given how much damage it has already done to our political discourse and social fabric.

I'm keeping my eye out for some Wood Ducks who are still in the neighborhood. Nobody out of the ordinary. I was glad to see a flock of Dark-eyed Juncos in some Kwanzan Cherry Trees.
