Ahhh I assumed you meant heitsi-eibib from the Khoikhoi of South West africa, he is sometimes referred to as Ebibi and is a shapeshifter like the irimu. I can't seem to find any information on those two from those names but I'll give fang culture a search and see

I hadn't actually! The myth of Ebibi is quite interesting. He seems kind of like a trickster demigod.
I can't seem to find anything on the ezumzum however.

There seems to be many different interpretations of the irimu. From what I understand they are considered a cannibal spirit of sorts that can shapeshift and not just into a beast - sometimes stone or plants.

Some of these creatures are pretty common in central African fantasy writing like the abada or the impundulu. But there are plenty here I haven't seen.
I'd say it's fairly authentic tho! It seems a good starting point to dive into some of these lesser-known myths

Thank you! I have some Bantu heritage so I wanted to explore different stories from that culture. The Bantu also share this myth and when I read it, I was inspired to make a romanticized version of her. Less - giant lady monster ate everyone. But my own interpretation is mostly off the original Zulu Tale, most commonly known as Untombinde and the Swallowing Monster. You can find it and a translation (a rough one) here.

Other names for her were - Feller of Lofty Thorn Trees, She Whose Feathers are Long and Broad, and Mother of Beetles

Her size is also debatable. The myth says she was big enough to consume an entire nation.
The reports from Europeans during the era of colonization in the area of Victoria falls described her as the size of a wagon with no wheels.

It depends - that's been a popular interpretation of her. Her description is rather loose in the original folktale. Bearded, hunched, bald, and smelly.
Actual reports from the area have led some to believe it was most likely a distant relative of the spinosaurus which partially inspired this design
