Did a LOT of work integrating the new VA by @tomschalk.bsky.social into the train fight for this #NightmareKart thread! Theres more lines in this one lvl than probably the entire main campaign so it was a doozy!

*This is an unfinished WIP, dialogue cutting itself off & bad balancing are known bugs!

Started processing and adding in the lines for the train boss fight. It's slow going as I need to re-time, format and transcribe any wording changes that came up in the recording process, but here's an early look at the first few lines!

To be honest, I don't harp on Butler's because he basically learned how to sing FOR that movie. Yeah it didn't sound too great, but for me it's like "well, he tried" and we always got Broadway greats

You know there's gonna be one guy in the group saying to hear him out and that becomes an hour long thing

Another guy chimes in "Colm Wilkinson" and three guys go "NAHHH that's fuckin cap, sent Jean Valjean back to France lol"

Then they argue the rest of the evening if The Phantom could survive the French Revolution

I just think it would be really funny if bros talked about musicals like they do sports.

"I wouldn't wipe my ass with either of their Phantoms, JOJ every day, bro"

Reminder that the Gkids release of Tokyo Godfathers has an English dub where Hana is played by a trans actress (who also helped with the dub script, too!) and she is FANTASTIC.

But also, Yoda saying "oopie doopie, you must. Pooper scooper, you shall."

Also for real, I love telling stories and making up tales between different characters. Voice over is a medium for me to imagine how interactions happen, how they evolve. It's a playground for comedic timing and emotional impact.

Just so it's clear. It's not allowing AI because it's trying to create a clean dataset for training AI. It's not because any of the involved parties actually care about human created art.

Demons can lie to you. You have to rebuke them categorically, rather than fold when they say the right words.

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
