I don’t think they could have imagined today, when Republicans in Congress have decimated these programs they fought so hard for ― all in service to their ultra-wealthy donors.

Today is the 60-year anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid. Yet as we celebrate this milestone, we’re reeling from the largest cuts to those programs in history.

Democrats have always stood up for those who need access to care, and we won’t ever stop fighting for you.

Medicaid and Medicare have saved lives every single day over their 60 years serving Americans. So many families owe so very much to these programs – and yet, Republicans didn’t even blink when Trump demanded they pass the biggest healthcare cuts in the history of this country.

They had a choice - cut healthcare for 15 million Americans or let tax giveaways for the super wealthy expire.
