@energycommerce.bsky.social held a hearing on the risks of A.I. chatbots, but just a few months ago, Republicans on our committee--and the full House--voted to prevent states from passing laws to protect their citizens from these very threats FOR 10 YEARS.

Today, Republicans advanced reform bills in subcommittee that fail to address barriers to broadband deployment, but impose strict deadlines on overburdened local permitting officials.

I joined @energycommerce.bsky.social Democrats to introduce an amendment to help them comply with these deadlines.

AI Chatbots have compromised user privacy, enabled suicide and eating disorders, and engaged minors with sexually explicit content.
 
Enough is enough. It's time for Congress to get serious about developing guardrails for this rapidly developing technology.

Republicans are the problem.

They enacted massive cuts to health care and food assistance while also giving massive tax giveaways to billionaires and wealthy corporations.

Not shocking—this is their brand. Just extremely disappointing.

Once again, Trump is threatening to have his FCC attack dog collectively punish an entire network because one of its reporters asked him a tough question.

The Epstein Coverup clearly matters far more to him than the 1st Amendment ever could.

And it's not hard to figure out why.

The House GOP kept the House out of session during their govt shutdown when we SHOULD have been here working.
