If we owned the land then there wouldnβt have been a rent dispute and we might still be there.
09.09.2025 10:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Who was it that started taking the Online Safety Act through parliament as Secretary of State? That very act Farage spent yesterday telling a congress committee is killing freedom of speech?
Oh yeah, Nadine Dorries.
Itβs fine to just say youβre not a Rayner fan, you donβt like the CGT/stamp duty issues sheβs been involved in and youβd like her removed. We donβt need to make up stuff about her having illicit earnings.

The register of MPs interests shows sheβs not a huge earner and most of her donations are clearly for campaigning. Is there any evidence sheβs been taking cash for influence?

14.08.2025 11:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just a reminder that an individual's national insurance payments do not fund their State pension.
The average person's national insurance payments cover about half the cost of their state pension:
I had to make my daughter an account which meant creating her an email address. I linked our accounts. Then I bought it from my account but assigned it to her.

04.07.2025 09:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0All looks very admirable but with the post-Truss lending situation breathing down our backs youβve never explained how youβll pay for it. Sadly that is an actual pertinent question.
Everyone knows Starmer and Reeves have fucked up but thatβs because theyβre deeply grounded in reality.
Bad news for the Lee Anderson Shelter.

Is it though? The chancer working three jobs is of interest but an assault on home working that doesnβt explain that the current and previous governments are reducing the size of the estate and office space is missing vital context. Oh and why to Tufton Street for a quote?

08.02.2025 11:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Basically consumers have less money so firms canβt charge them more.
06.02.2025 12:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, basically.
Higher rates leave borrowers with less cash to spend and discourages further borrowing so there is less demand chasing the same supply of stuff and makes raising prices more difficult. Suppliers canβt raise prices without seeing demand drop off. It should cause inflation to slow.
There are winners and losers (net borrowers and net savers) but inflation is predicted to remain above target so ordinarily the bank might be looking to hike rates. They donβt feel they can do that because of the very gloomy growth figures and theyβre trying not to choke off demand in the economy.

Lobby for a change in the law by all means but just remember that when the usual suspects pretend to be outraged later today.
