TEXT: ILLINOIS JUST RECEIVED A NEW CREDIT RATING UPGRADE FOR THE 10TH TIME SINCE GOVERNOR PRITZKER TOOK OFFICE.
Illinois just earned its 10th credit rating upgrade since I took office.
Balanced budgets, paid-down debt, and a record rainy-day fund — that’s responsible leadership.
"KNOW YOUR PROTEST RIGHTS You don’t need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don’t need a permit to march in the streets or along sidewalks, as long as you’re not obstructing traffic or access to buildings. When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police. If you believe your rights have been violated, when you can, write down everything you remember, get contact information for witnesses, and take photographs of any injuries. If you get stopped by the police, ask if you’re free to go. If they say yes, calmly walk away. If you get arrested, you have a right to ask why. Otherwise, say you wish to remain silent and ask for a lawyer immediately. Don’t sign, say or agree to anything without a lawyer present. If you get stopped by a member of the military or any law enforcement office at a protest, you have the right to remain silent or to tell them that you’ll only answer questions in the presence of an attorney — no matter your citizenship or immigration status."

DPI Chair Lisa Hernandez responds to looming Republican government shutdown: “Donald Trump and his allies – including Illinois Representatives Mary Miller (IL-15), Mike Bost (IL-12), and Darin LaHood (IL-16) – would rather shut down the government than work with Democrats to prevent a massive health care crisis for hundreds of thousands of Illinoisans. Republicans are responsible for these skyrocketing costs, and when Democrats offered them a chance to reverse their devastating cuts to health care, they flat-out rejected it. As Trump and Republicans barrel toward a government shutdown that would furlough 45,000 federal workers in Illinois and throw our economy into even more chaos, Democrats are united: cancel the cuts, lower costs, and save health care for Illinoisans.”
If Republicans shut down the government, 45,000 Illinoisans could lose their paychecks. Families will feel it at the doctor’s office and grocery store. Republicans don’t care.
