Dwt kan nog bero på vart man är ansluten. På Gotland blev det 100.64-ip för v4 och riktig v6 för nåt är sedan via operatörsneutral fiber och BB2. Gjorde inget särskilt annat än att ha en inte helt omodern router.

I am increasingly of the opinion that people who change menus and look and feel of computer software just so that you know it's a new version should be personally forced to play tech support to my mother for five months.

so while you might be 2001:a:b:c:d:1234:5678:90ab today and 2001:a:b:c:d:0987:6543:3210:ab tomorrow, for purposes of id or blocking your traffic, we would just block/log 2001:a:b:c:d and act on that as "you". Same as blocking/logging 33.44.55.66 when you run 10 boxes on 192.168.x at home

Probably not. First of all, many modern OSes will randomize their ip in the home network, secondly, even if you nat your 192.168.x we on the outside see your 33.44.55.66 v4 ip. In the v6 case, you might be randomizing a v6 every day, but from the outside we see all those from same 2001:a:b:c:d::.

worth having internet on. If we did give out addresses like that, it would still be enough for 2^32 galaxies. Now, there are probably more, but it will take a while for it to run out. And yes, we hand them out differently and often never less than /64 to each endpoint and so forth, but still.

But you have to stretch your imagination quite a bit. Since the complete v4 space is 32 bits, you could give this to every person. Then we could assume 2^32 people on a generic planet each getting "a full internet" worth of addresses. Then we could imagine there being 2^32 planets in the galaxy

They made a really good one for VIC20 too, with that larger screenmode.

be 0xfe00 which is one sector below 64k, so the filesystem code would then split larger ops into sub-64k IOs and your fs did not break. As time went on, fewer drives had this problem, but it was a real issue around the time of 540M -> 1G drives, which coincided with A1200/4000 ide machines.

wrap around or do something else equally bad if given 65+k IO requests. Amiga at the time would at times send such requests and you would have broken reads/writes if you had a bad drive/firmware. So HDToolbox and the ide driver gained a setting to limit the request sizes, and the safe value would

Maxtransfer isn't a rate, it is the maximum size of IO requests, and disks at the time were mostly used for MSDOS (and win3 which we probably can fold into DOS+gui) and for obvious x86 reasons, DOS would not send IO larger than 64k, so some bad drives would not do IO larger than 64k and often would

Some good #C64 news and some bad. Breadbin C64 had stable RF signal but black picture. Given that old breadbins have broken PLA chips, I got a replacement from the UK.

The story of Horizon, a Swedish C64 demo group. In Swedish.

Article from the C64 magazine "Svenska Hemdator Nytt" from 1989 about the demo group Horizon that a bunch of friends and me ran. The original Swedish speaking article and a machine translated English version.

Not a lot has changed.

(sorry, but I have no higher resolution versions)
