Truly the dumbest of times

"Move fast and break stuff" is fine when you're dealing with benign optional tech like social media companies.

In government, you're dealing with real lives, livelihoods, and real economies where mistakes can matter a LOT.

I wonder if "personal liberties" will include women's right to healthcare and if "free market economy" will cover how tariffs and Musk's involvement in the federal government are anything but free market.

We're moving our own healthcare to a DPC model and using @costplusdrugs.com for our Rxs. This should save us about $8k/year without losing a step.

I'm still trying to finalize the catastrophic coverage portion and on-brand meds needed for my spouse, but I know there are systems in place.

One of the largest challenges for healthcare providers moving to a DPC model is that people worry about losing the "safety net" of traditional insurance.

As a startup founder paying for my own insurance, I'm always trying to figure out how to cover our needs without spending dumbly.

I don't blame doctors at all; they're doing healthcare. But so many are "stuck in the system" because most of us seek healthcare through the traditional system that employer benefits cover.

I talk with a lot of direct primary care (DPC) docs & they do GREAT work, especially preventative care.

Health insurance premiums are the lowest reward-to-cost "tax" we pay, both what employers pay and individuals' contributions.

The average American pays ~11% for health insurance premiums just for the "benefit" of paying more IF they need to access healthcare.

Since we started @precisionhealthreports.com in 2020, 98% of my time has been with family, building/growing/delivering our mission, and at the gym/rucking.

Almost all else gets a quick, "not now" and I get back to what's important.

I get your concern, but it’s not about trump in that case. It’s that the population would not tolerate a draft. Obviously enough people tolerated the activity that let this last election play out as it did, but a draft would affect everyone directly or their immediate families. It will not happen.

There will be no draft.

No members of Congress has the guts to declare a draft even if we ever actually needed one.

Also, the last thing any member of the military wants is a draftee in their ranks.

Through social media, I’ve found and met people from my industry that are now partners or customers. I’ve made connections that are now real friends. Most importantly, I’ve been able to reconnect to friends from long ago from college/Army that I’d lost touch with.

SM is more than “engagement.”
