Stunning. Could this be a Glen Turret??
Love this. Meaty, smokey, fruity, ashy, tasty, honey, godly, whisky.
5/5
Could drink this all night, and tomorrow night too.
Laphroaig cask?
I've convinced myself now it IS Islay
D5
ok, I could be wrong...cause could be Caol Ila or Torabhaig (if I was right π)
This is soooooo ashy. It's the smell on your clothes after a drunken night next to an outdoor woodburner.
There's a deliciously savoury fruit note in here too. Redcurrant jam on a juicy leg of lamb.

D5
Peat is here too, but it's not Islay peat...it's lusher than that.
Arbroath Smokies, American pastrami, a smell I very much associate with fishing for trout on Gladhouse reservoir on one of the dark green rowing boats.
Love this. Plucking some memory strings...

This has been my favourite so far. All the elements of a BBQ sauce drizzled bit of fatty pork off a fire. All subtle though, just enough to keep you going back for another sip.
A solid 4/5 on this one. Under Β£80 and I'll buy a bottle of this tonight

Salty first, then sweet. I'm sticking with my kebab off the BBQ theme from the nose as this feels like a pork kebab with a kansas style BBQ sauce on it.
There's a subtle soft smoke here, with something sweet like a really juicy slightly burnt bit of yellow pepper.
#BlindDrams
D4
Musty on the nose. pencil shavings, some very faint smoke in there too. The smell you get from the wooden kebab sticks after they've been on the BBQ. It's all very subtle though

The finish on this holds it back. It's sucks your cheeks in with a sour and dry finish that is just a little bit disappointing.
I'm going to end up giving this a 2/5 which I'm disappointed at as initially though this could be a cracker
#BlindDrams
D3
it's a boozy cough syrup. More like Covonia, but in a good way! It's dry at the end, with a touch of nutmeg, clove and a touch of cinnamon. There's something a bit like pumpkin pulp in here too.
There's something really sour at the end of this though which stops it being a belter

This might be the darkest whisky I've had doing this so far. Even in a small pour it holds it's colour & it's sensational!
Probably a PX just on the eye alone. The nose is ginger snaps, white pepper, heavily varnished old wooden floors, old leather chairs, buttercup cough syrup...

This is an easy drinker. The nose was utterly bizarre for me, but the simplicity of the taste means this is one you could go back for a few drams for before moving onto the really good stuff.
It edges D1 for me, but remains the same score so 3/5 here too
#BlindDrams

For such a mixed bag on the nose, the palate is fairly simple.
it's sherried sultanas, candied walnuts and a tiny hint of burnt caramel right at the end. It's a lovely drinker this. Doesn't feel overly boozy. I'd guess at Oloroso.

The nose on this initially not much, however a hand over the glass and a swirl brings out the batshit crazy!
Red laces, stinky brie, banana chips, freshly cut basil leaf and a smell I very much associate with church pews. All of them subtle and swapping with each sniff. WILD

I reckon this could be Irish, there's a pot still taste about it. It iss quite a pleasant peachy start though, especially once you add a couple of doubs!
I reckon this just sneaks a 3/5
#BlindDrams
D1
Starts off sweet, with peaches & syrup early on. However it very quickly gets spicy! I'm still getting a faint hint of desiccated coconut in there too.
Couple of doubs of water and it's smoothed it out nicely. Some of the woody notes and the peaches are joined by some custard.

Nose on this is all macaroon bars for me. The cheap ones, typically found in a small white paper bag circa 1988...
There's also something more industrial in here too. Pot still like...

Poured and ready to get stuck into #BlindDrams #btc58
The nights are considerably darker, as are some of these drams...

I think this is probably at in part Oloroso influenced. I'm a fan of this. This is a very solid 4. Per D3, at the right price a bottle of this might be in the post soon. Lovely.

Delicious. Tastes as it smells! Leather, old books, tobacco smoke, treacle, prunes, burnt caramel. The temperature has dropped and this is like sitting next to an open fire.
I can't decide if it's peated or not. I think it might be but it's subtle. Bowmore?
#BTC55 #BlindDrams

Looks and smells sherry influenced. Has that wonderful old smell. Leather, old books, burnt caramel, prunes, treacle. Another that smells superb

Honey, lemon, sugar. It's like a scottish bourbon. Speyside like. fine, sweet, not very memorable.
Doubs don't add anything.
it's fine. There nothing bad here, but there's nothing to get excited about. Volvo.
So little to say I'll just drop my score now. 3/5
#BTC55 #BlindDrams
Would be an absolute fluke if it was!! Feels very generic speyside to me

I'm struggling with the nose on this one. It's kinda generic... a bit of honey, slight lemon, apple.....a volvo of a nose on this. It's nice enough and I'm sure it'll get me where I want to go....it's just a bit boring and safe.
#BTC55 #BlindDrams
WOW! that unlocked a memory!!

A very easy drinker this one. Applewood and smoked salmon is the absolute stand out. It's a little bit thin which conflicts me on the score.
Part of me wants to know what it costs...at Β£75 or less it's a 4. Above and it's a 3.
But let's go with 4 here
#BTC55 #BlindDrams

Okay, now we're talking. The smoked salmon like smoke stays. Applewood smoked cheese. It's really thin compared to the others and is VERY drinkable.
There's a bit of leather and brown sugar. There's also something that reminds me of chicken liver pate.
#BTC55 #BlindDrams

Smokey, but not peat. It's more smoked salmon. It's salty, coastal, a day at the beach. It's soft but smells great....again!

Two for two on the nose being great, but the heat here doesn't work today. I genuinely think it would be higher on a cold day, but as I sit in my garden in my short shorts....this one gets a 2
Saving the rest for future medicinal reasons....
#BTC55 #BlindDrams

Another chewy one. Lemon and sugar. It's like a hot toddy with a heavy helping of alcohol you need when you really need to that cold
There's a lot of heat in this. 2 doubs bring is back to a simmer but robs it of it's fun a little
A whisky for winter not a heatwave! #BTC55 #BlindDrams
Yeah, was torn between that and key lime. It's not as lemon heavy as others. Certainly smells lovely!
