Amazing, thanks Alom. I'll look into that. I'd largely resigned myself to being someone who struggles with sleep, so it's great to know that there's a possible fix ๐ค

I'm definitely guilty of this myself, having struggled with sleeplessness in the middle of the night for years. Did you do a sleep-specific CBT course? Sorry if you've already described it - I'm late to the conversation!

Fair point. We shouldn't assume that policymakers will always make decisions based on evidence, if they have access. But the paper points out that if advice-systems aren't in place to provide them with the evidence they need, at the right time, in a usable form, then there's no chance it can be used

Science could solve some of the worldโs biggest problems. Why arenโt governments using it?
A Nature global survey finds that most specialists are unhappy with systems to provide science advice to policymakers.
Lots of work still to be done to bridge gap between research and policy makers.
- 80% of respondents: 'politicians lack sufficient understanding of science.'
- 73%: 'researchers lack understanding of policy processes and decision-making.'

โItโs devastating for our townโ
A do-not-swim warning at one of Kentโs most popular beaches is โnothing short of devastatingโ, say furious residents.
Such sad news for the community here in Deal - the town's history, its culture, residents' wellbeing, and local tourism are all inextricably tied to the sea.
To be told it's now so polluted we shouldn't get into it is devastating.
