I'm definitely guilty of this myself, having struggled with sleeplessness in the middle of the night for years. Did you do a sleep-specific CBT course? Sorry if you've already described it - I'm late to the conversation!

Fair point. We shouldn't assume that policymakers will always make decisions based on evidence, if they have access. But the paper points out that if advice-systems aren't in place to provide them with the evidence they need, at the right time, in a usable form, then there's no chance it can be used

Science could solve some of the world’s biggest problems. Why aren’t governments using it? A Nature global survey finds that most specialists are unhappy with systems to provide science advice to policymakers.

Lots of work still to be done to bridge gap between research and policy makers.

- 80% of respondents: 'politicians lack sufficient understanding of science.'
- 73%: 'researchers lack understanding of policy processes and decision-making.'

‘It’s devastating for our town’ A do-not-swim warning at one of Kent’s most popular beaches is “nothing short of devastating”, say furious residents.

Such sad news for the community here in Deal - the town's history, its culture, residents' wellbeing, and local tourism are all inextricably tied to the sea.

To be told it's now so polluted we shouldn't get into it is devastating.
