Update - Reached out to the mod developer about what I could do with this tweak and they've said they're gonna see if my writing fits with their own lore concepts and if so, the might include my writing as a contribution.

The OG mod had very limited descriptions for each race and armour type (mostly just 'RACE NAME: ARMOUR NAME').

So I wrote a whole bunch of descriptions and added a few extra entries to explain how XCF's XCOM is able to recruit non-human forces before they've even started fighting the cults.

Yesterday I posted a bunch of pages from an interactive fiction project I'm working on - 'RuinsWiki'.

The desired end goal of the project would be a website structured as a backup/dump of the eponymous RuinsWiki, posted by a former user after the events of the story.

Reading old @pcgamer.com magazines from pre-2000 for a thing I'm working on and man I forgot how wild those years of game design were - People were just throwing whatever they wanted at the wall and the less saturated market meant a lot of it could find a home.

Finding a comment like 'glomps u UwU' from like 10 years ago feels like uncovering a cursed slab in the desert.

My god, the pre-irony era sure existed.

Meanwhile, people getting into the industry interact with gamejams and find they can push out something creative on a short timeframe, so when they get into a job that has unreasonable crunch, they have this internal doubt of "but I've done it before!".

I dunno man. Creative process cant be rushed.

The saddest part about Crunch culture in Game dev is that is kinda built into people getting into the field via GameJams.

The IDEA of a Gamejam is cool and fun, and I honestly believe some higher up corpo types don't understand why that sprint crunch process cant transfer to the day job.

Played through tempest rising this weekend. It's good! Gameplay is smooth. Only compliant is the voice acting is a bit poor in places.
