IIASA to Host the First-Ever Climate Overshoot Conference from September 30th to October 2nd, 2025 As the world faces the growing risk of exceeding the 1.5°C warming threshold, understanding the risks and responses to climate overshoot across different disciplines has never been more urgent.

What are the consequences of exceeding 1.5°C? The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) is gathering experts from around the world for the Overshoot Conference, from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at the Conference Center in Laxenburg, Austria. iiasa.ac.at/events/sep-2...

Bumblebee plot showing global average temperature by month from the 1940s through May 2024. Temperatures rose steadily from the 1940s to the 2020s, but have increased sharply since. Every month from June 2023 to May 2024 was a record high by about 0.2 degrees C.
