Federal shutdown could have widespread, devastating effect on Floridians The federal shutdown will impact millions of Floridians on the Affordable Care Act as well as thousands of workers who depend on a government paycheck.

“My constituents cannot absorb a doubling of their premiums,” State Sen. Carlos Guillermo Smith, said. “The Dems in Congress have been trying to get a seat at the table to reverse these devastating cuts to health care passed in the ‘Big Betrayal Bill’ by the Republicans.”

Trump and RFK Jr. are back at it again — fearmongering and spreading dangerous misinformation about essential health care and science. They’re pushing the baseless claim that taking Tylenol during pregnancy causes autism.

Let’s be clear: the science does not support this. Period.

Trump cancels meeting with Schumer and Jeffries on keeping the government open The New York lawmakers had been scheduled for a Thursday meeting with President Donald Trump ahead of the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30 in hopes of reaching an agreement to avoid a government shutdown.
