Action Alert: Last House Committee for Endangering Our Kids Act HB 173 requires parental consent for minors’ maternal health and contraceptive services, STD treatment, and outpatient crisis intervention services. This legislation also attempts to ban crisis mental health interventions for young people.

House Bill 173 would make it so that a young person can get tested for an STI, but can’t get treatment without parental consent. Some parents may be absent, or it may be unsafe, but it’s critical that young people can access the care they need without barriers.

Advocacy Action: Stop SB 1090/HB 1071 Indoctrination in Public Schools This “education” bill would effectively mandate the inclusion of anti-abortion content such as the “Baby Olivia” and “Baby Oliver” videos in school curriculums.

These videos are misleading, medically inaccurate, and explicitly assert that life begins at fertilization. This bill will be heard in the House Student Academic Success Subcommittee on Wed. Tell your state rep to remove this dangerous disinfo from the bill.

Today, the Florida House passed House Bill 289, a sweeping bill designed to take rights away from pregnant patients and give them to abusers.

If fertilized eggs and embryos were to have the same rights as a person, that would take away the pregnant patient's right to make health care decisions that are best for their body and situation, including in emergencies.
