Middle to old age trans wifey in the UK. Advocate for trans issues but LGBTQ in general. Likes a good rant. Sometimes grumpy. #trans

The BBC’s biggest problem is trans women says not nice but dim Tim. An issue that until about two years ago no-one frankly had a view on and cared even less

Today's hero is definently the mayor of #Budapest, Gergely Karacsony. Despite Hungary's PM Orban's threat to get Karacsont arrested and put into prison, he still support and back up today's planned Pride Parade. My thoughts are with you all, marching for equality, diversity and love.

19.06.2025 20:47 — 👍 12 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0You mean we have to attend these meetings? All of them? The reality of what running a council actually entails is starting to hit home. Expect similar chaos and incompetence at Reform run councils across the country
02.06.2025 07:35 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Agreed. I work in this field and nobody but nobody in the UK ever called it DEI until what seems just a few weeks ago.

If they adopt any of this nonsense they will lose not just thousands of votes but the last shreds of any credibility as a party. Depressing.

26.05.2025 07:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Mary it’ll be chaos. These people have no experience of running anything far less a complex organisation like a local authority, Councillors won’t turn up for meetings, will not understand the mechanisms of committee meetings and the decision making process. Open the popcorn and enjoy.
10.05.2025 18:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0In addition to this what’s not been mentioned much is how staff at Reform run councils will want to work for such people. I work for a LA in a relatively senior role and would undoubtedly have been making plans to leave had they taken over my council. I suspect I wouldn’t be alone in that.
10.05.2025 10:45 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0And turn up to the myriad number of committees required to legally run a council, make decisions on numerous complex issues and do all that whilst abiding by standards set by the constitution. They will soon tire of all that. It will be beyond their limited capabilities and intellect.
04.05.2025 17:44 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Indeed. I don’t have any sympathy for the people of Durham but I do for the Council staff who will have to work with these Neanderthals.
