Calmly correct misinformation with facts from reputable sources.

Avoid a judgemental tone. People often shut down when they feel they are being attacked.

Talk about your feelings with “I” statements.

Find common ground by talking about things everyone can agree on: the importance of respect, the desire for happiness, or the right to live without fear.
