Good question, Tom. Better to criticize the program if it turns out to be dull rather than this unwarranted hatchet job. I’m sure there was scepticism about the prospects for a baking show on a mainstream channel, and look how that turned out.

Nothing else has worked – so Starmer and Reeves are finally telling the truth about Brexit | Rafael Behr It is the right way to go, but taking the long way round to such an obvious point has cost Labour precious time and credibility, says Guardian columnist Rafael Behr

Finally a UK politician willing to tell the truth about #Brexit impact on the economy. It’s a start, I suppose www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

I agree…saw it yesterday. I thought those aspects of white supremacy in the film were very well explored and really disturbing. I thought it was going to be a shoot em up film, was not looking forward to it at all. Penn played such a revolting character, quite an achievement.

As a communications professional my advice would have been to ask β€˜how would you feel if it was spread across the pages of Private Eye’? If it fails the Private Eye test, then it fails. It doesn’t matter what advice you took, what assurances you have. The media decides if it’s a story and that’s it

If Starmer doesn’t solve the immigration crisis (which is what it is) he’s toast and he knows it. The opinion polls reflect the public view that β€˜it’s got to stop’. If you want Farage as PM then tell Starmer to do nothing.
