Thanks to @highpaycentre.bsky.social for showing how deep inequality runs. Is a CEO worth 1500 of the rest of us?
We've (naturally) run the numbers for unpaid carers too; Melrose's CEO package is over 13,600x what carers live on. Our priorities are upside down. Letβs change them.

The highest paid FTSE 100 CEO in 2025 took just over two hours to earn the same as the typical UK worker will all year.
This level of inequality is both morally unacceptable and damaging to society.
Can we really justify a top boss earning 1509 times the typical worker?

Let's not perpetuate this language. Let's call it what it is. Hateful. Rooted in bigotry and the gateway drug that allowed austerity to destroy lives.

More wise words from @carefull.bsky.social, this time on Paul Scholes' announcement that he's sidelining paid work to care for his autistic son. This is a dilemma that affects so many carers in our economy; article link in the comments

This week Paul Scholes shared his experiences of caring for his son alongside his professional role and it resonated with us. In our economy - that devalues and isolates care - the challenges he faced are shared by millions, but not everyone has the resources he has to fall back on.

Whether youβre up for the school run, taking Mum to a doctors appointment or helping a neighbour with their shopping, we all want to care and be cared for.
But in the economy we have millions who care are struggling to survive, left to worry about how to care for someone and look after themselves..

My reflections on this positive event, it feels there's a real opportunity for us to shift the narrative on care. We're so keen to create a hopeful future full of abundance for all of us, it's good to see others feel the same.

It feels like there is impetus for us to push for a change in the narrative, an opportunity for solidarity across the many identities of care and as Marie (quoting Robert Redford) said hope can propel us forward.
