'Robert Jenrick is morphing into Farage - his shameless posts are dangerous' The Shadow Justice Minister's rebrand has seen him out-Farage Farage, Brian Reade writes, and only stokes civil unrest over immigration

"There is a moral implosion at the top of the Tory Party as people who failed spectacularly on immigration now hawk dangerous extremism to claw back relevance. And it risks civil unrest on a scale we haven't seen since the early 1980s”

A revamped Sure Start is coming back after my campaigning.

Bournemouth has a generation of Sure Start kids. Parents remember what that support meant, and they want it back.

Local kids always come first. I’m fighting for them to get the care, education, play, and opportunities they need.

Labour’s first year: what has Starmer really achieved? Labour’s first year in power has ended with humiliation over welfare reform. But has the focus on that issue drowned out some real achievements?

A year of Labour: a welfare disaster in the headlinesβ€”but is the big picture being missed?

Stephen McNair takes a look at what Starmer’s government has done (and what still threatens to undo it)

Labour is measurably rescuing Britain.

A year since Sunak called the general election, the data tells a story the right-wing media won’t.

5 concrete everyday improvements:

Labour’s quiet revolution is storming ahead.

While its EU deal grabbed the headlines this week, the government made undeniable breakthroughs on long-term projects that will completely reshape Britain.

Somewhere in the thread is the list of countries who already benefit from this.
The point is, these workers are temporary, and so are not entitled to the benefits which National Insurance covers.
Also they will pay an NHS surcharge (for each family member is any come along).
Looks like racism to me.

Starmer accused of β€˜two-tier taxes’ for Indian migrants under trade deal

Ending double taxation of Indians here on temporary work visas just as we do for many other countries (including US, EU, etc) is "two-tier taxation".

Ignorance, racism, cynical opportunism, or all three?

We are bringing 36,000 military homes back into public ownership with a new Consumer Charter to improve standards for forces families. This is on top of the largest pay rise for 20 years for our armed forces.

I’m sure the MSM will be all over this!

Pledge to create thousands more nursery places has backfired, early years groups say Schools are pushing out established groups as funding for more places comes on stream

Another Sunday, another attack job on a Labour policy from the Observer.

The headline says the school nursery policy has 'backfired' suggesting there could be fewer nursery places as schools ask some private nurseries to move out.

But all three examples in the article have found new premises.

Rather than go straight to Twitter, Starmer picked up phone to both presidents. That’s the role he wants to play & is uniquely able to do so. PM will keep trying everything to get Trump & Zelensky into a better place, as he did in Washington, as he did last night & will continue to do this weekend

Starmer tells Zelenskyy:

"As you heard from the cheers in the street outside, you have full backing in the United Kingdom... that is the people of the UK coming out to demonstrate how much they support you and the people of Ukraine."

Exactly this. More than enough hysteria and histrionics from the White House and media without Starmer adding to it, and throwing social media grenades won’t help anyone, least of all Ukraine.

Level heads, pragmatism and subtle, sensible diplomacy are exactly what’s needed right now.
