Yet another retrospective triumph for Cameron and Osborne.

Bournemouth has a generation of Sure Start kids. Parents remember what that support meant, and they want it back.
Local kids always come first. Iβm fighting for them to get the care, education, play, and opportunities they need.
A year of Labour: a welfare disaster in the headlinesβbut is the big picture being missed?
Stephen McNair takes a look at what Starmerβs government has done (and what still threatens to undo it)
Labour is measurably rescuing Britain.
A year since Sunak called the general election, the data tells a story the right-wing media wonβt.
5 concrete everyday improvements:
Labourβs quiet revolution is storming ahead.
While its EU deal grabbed the headlines this week, the government made undeniable breakthroughs on long-term projects that will completely reshape Britain.
5 you may have missed:
Britain under Labour: Starmer and Macron are leaders of a 30-country coalition of the willing, aiming to end the war in Ukraine.
Britain under the Tories: βPresident Macron - friend or foe?β Truss: βThe juryβs out!β #ukpolitics
Somewhere in the thread is the list of countries who already benefit from this.
The point is, these workers are temporary, and so are not entitled to the benefits which National Insurance covers.
Also they will pay an NHS surcharge (for each family member is any come along).
Looks like racism to me.
Starmer accused of βtwo-tier taxesβ for Indian migrants under trade deal
Ending double taxation of Indians here on temporary work visas just as we do for many other countries (including US, EU, etc) is "two-tier taxation".
Ignorance, racism, cynical opportunism, or all three?
We are bringing 36,000 military homes back into public ownership with a new Consumer Charter to improve standards for forces families. This is on top of the largest pay rise for 20 years for our armed forces.
Iβm sure the MSM will be all over this!
Labour is restoring confidence in policing - police officers who fail a vetting check will face automatic dismissal making sure only officers of the highest standards are allowed to serve our communities
26.04.2025 09:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Expected Β£1000 boost to retirement savings for the average worker and Β£225 million savings a year for businesses through authorised consolidator pension schemes
UK and Ukraine deepen community ties as part of 100-year partnership
At least 10,000 extra driving tests a month to be made available
Β£300m cash injection into GB Energy to jumpstart clean energy supply chains, create 10,000 new jobs, and powering up Britain using homegrown offshore wind
Up to 2 years in prison for water company bosses who cover up illegal sewage spills due to new powers in force today
From my MP:
Here are 8 things Labourβs Plan for Change delivered this week:
Nearly 180,000 children were the 1st to enjoy Labourβs free breakfast clubs this week, as a first step towards delivering free breakfast clubs for all primary children.
Another Sunday, another attack job on a Labour policy from the Observer.
The headline says the school nursery policy has 'backfired' suggesting there could be fewer nursery places as schools ask some private nurseries to move out.
But all three examples in the article have found new premises.

Labour has recruited 1,500 more GPβs since October.

The Employment Rights Bill will strengthen statutory sick pay, end exploitive zero-hour contracts and end unscrupulous fire and rehire tactics. This really is tremendous

10.03.2025 08:00 β π 1851 π 341 π¬ 76 π 8Rather than go straight to Twitter, Starmer picked up phone to both presidents. Thatβs the role he wants to play & is uniquely able to do so. PM will keep trying everything to get Trump & Zelensky into a better place, as he did in Washington, as he did last night & will continue to do this weekend
01.03.2025 20:56 β π 707 π 76 π¬ 34 π 5Wow: JD Vance is apparently skiing in Vermont this weekend and the locals arenβt having it. Thousands have lined the streets in protest.
01.03.2025 17:43 β π 15738 π 2970 π¬ 565 π 705Starmer tells Zelenskyy:
"As you heard from the cheers in the street outside, you have full backing in the United Kingdom... that is the people of the UK coming out to demonstrate how much they support you and the people of Ukraine."
Exactly this. More than enough hysteria and histrionics from the White House and media without Starmer adding to it, and throwing social media grenades wonβt help anyone, least of all Ukraine.
Level heads, pragmatism and subtle, sensible diplomacy are exactly whatβs needed right now.
The PM has spoken to Presidents Zelensky and Trump tonight. Number 10 spox says:
"He retains unwavering support for Ukraine, and is doing all he can to find a path forward to a lasting peace based on sovereignty and security for Ukraine."
