I may have mentioned previously that in Liberia these are called Christmas birds. Hardly ever see them in western NY, but we do get quite a few great blue herons.

I’m a geek and I take pretty pictures. I like music too. And puppies. And kittens. @ArtGeek@micro.blog @Artgeek@mastodon.social

I was spending all my free time practicing the Borodin string quartet 2, mvt III for a concert last night and riding my bike to get back in shape for our Ireland trip. Still getting in shape, but I can breathe a big sigh now that the concert is done.

Check it out—it was a mistranslation added to the Revised Standard Version.

Thought you might like Dave Dube's work—he is a moderator of a group I'm in on Flickr and is currently on a fungal spree. I pointed him to your website as well.

I did get to be a pretty good groom, which I actually enjoyed. I just like being around horses—they're such gorgeous animals.
29.05.2025 02:17 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Sadly, I was too large to ride any of the lesson horses, so I never got to take any lessons myself. I have to settle for riding my bicycle everywhere.
29.05.2025 02:15 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I've been stepped on by both horses and cows, which is how I learned to shove with my butt and back instead of my hands. Keeps your feet out of stomping range. Not a farm boy, but my oldest brother and sister both married into farm families, and my daughters took riding lessons.
28.05.2025 23:49 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I once had a small horse get annoyed with me and aim a kick in my direction. Glad he missed. I give their hindquarters lots of room.
