What we’re witnessing in America is what happens when disordered discourse captures a political party, then the state itself. The Republican Party was the first to fall - abandoning truth for conspiracy, ideology for grievance, and policy for performative outrage.

There are some people who post the odd chess news article, but I haven't noticed any "personalities" that have made the switch yet.

I'm getting flashbacks to when this happened in Australia. Everyone hated on the tech companies so much that logic and reason didn't come into it. The coverage was very biased, which I guess is not surprising given the vested interest from the media companies.
