I share your hatred for Hasan, but no American should have their right to freedom of speech infringed upon. The government doesn't get to control what you say, even if it's rape denial and sympathizing terrorists because they're anti-West.

About time. The recent government's anti- high skill immigration stance is, to say the least, bizarre.

Gemini 2.5 Pro is honestly the mainstream 'smart' model people are looking for. Structured reasoning meets deep world knowledge at a reasonable price, making it a pleasure to work and chat with.
OpenAI's 4o is too dumb, o3 too slow/expensive, o4-mini too specialized.

Abiotic Production of Dimethyl Sulfide, Carbonyl Sulfide, and Other Organosulfur Gases via Photochemistry: Implications for Biosignatures and Metabolic Potential Among the atmospheric gases that have been proposed as possible biosignatures in exoplanetary atmospheres, organosulfur gases are currently considered one of the more robust indicators of extant life....

It has even produced nonorganically in lab experiments:

The team behind the claim argues that such reactions couldn't produce the amount of DMS they find on K2-18 b. But it's a massive caveat that should be stated upfront and reported properly!

K2-18 b could have dimethyl sulfide in its air. But is it a sign of life? Fresh data from the James Webb Space Telescope provide more evidence for what some consider a biosignature โ€” but debate is sure to follow.

On Earth, the compounds, DMS and DMDS, have only been known to be produced by life, but there is evidence they could be produced through nonorganic means elsewhere in the universe.

DMS has been detected on a comet:

Scientists find compounds we only know to be produced by life on Earth in the atmosphere of an exoplanet at a significance of 3ฯƒ.
K2-18b is in its star's habitable zone, likely containing a H2 atmosphere and a liquid water ocean.
Is this the 'strongest hint' yet of extraterrestrial life? Umm...

Not really, the image model generates based on the user prompt. It could also generate something in the style of the right image, provided that association has been learned internally. The output reflects the training data, sure, but the prompt is leading.

How much genetic difference is there really between different species? I read a NewScientist article which said the wolf genome is 2.4 billion base pairs long, but googling the number of genes gives around 20k. So when scientists say the DNA is 99.5% shared, what are they talking about exactly?

I, and many others based on the replies, didn't interpret it as the same person saying "there's a male loneliness epidemic", but rather implying the parts above being the cause of male loneliness. And many people in highly liked replies being openly misandrist. Keep that shit on Xitter

Let's call this what this is: misandry. Your feelings are valid, just like an elderly Korean hating someone for being of Japanese ethnicity, but that doesn't make them right. You are discriminating based on an immutable trait if you can only share empathy for women's loneliness.

19.03.2025 21:32 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 4    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 3    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

This attitude is beyond disgusting and devoid of empathy, most men suffering from loneliness share none of these beliefs.

Ridiculing a societal problem based on a strawman fantasy of men's beliefs instead of seeking to resolve it is deeply antithetical to feminism.

so have you come across any data on the age structure of Evangelicals over time? It seems to be an important consideration.

Is this age-adjusted to any extent? Or has the average age & elderly proportion of Evangelicals not moved much relative to the overall population?
