PSA: Don't fondle wheat if you ever plan on seeing your family again.
06.08.2025 20:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well partner, I'm afraid that this here town ain't big enough for two emergent medical professionals
12.07.2025 19:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you're in a workplace that has a pack of these sitting next to the phone, let's grab a beer sometime.
01.07.2025 14:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Snoopy: Woodstock! What is good in life?
Woodstock: ||||!!!!!!''''''
Like so many things in our modern life, everybody remembers them but nobody knows how to use them
09.06.2025 13:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I would agree that going through current events requires regular use of the three seashells.
09.06.2025 13:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0After 7 months of research and calculation I have finally confirmed my amazing discovery: nobody can predict when winter will arrive in Game of Thrones because that world exists in the same universe as the Three Body Problem. A 𧡠1/25
07.06.2025 23:33 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A lot of people slam generation X for splitting up to cover more ground in horror movies, but it's the generation before us that will call the number when the message that they've been hacked comes up on the screen.
07.06.2025 15:07 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0"Meanwhile, in national news..."
05.06.2025 19:33 β π 19 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0I have my EMT exam tomorrow. I just learned that the answer to "What are electrolytes?" is NOT "what plants crave."
04.06.2025 19:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Police can claim that the husband is outright making stuff up, or they can choose not to take his statement, but if they say there's no evidence that this is a hate crime, they're lying. www.bbc.com/news/article...
03.06.2025 11:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I feel seen.
31.05.2025 00:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Now I'm thinking about horror-adjacent kids. Like they can start fires using their mind but only large enough to light a cigarette. Or able to communicate with recently deceased goldfish.
30.05.2025 17:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's shocking (but sadly, believable) that the accomplishments of this group, which saved countless lives through their example, has been ignored and erased.
29.05.2025 14:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I assumed it was a fabrication. How could such an important part of the history of EMS be omitted, after all. I was flabbergasted to find out it was true... and that "Freedom House" appears exactly zero times in my digital textbook (Emergency Care 14th edition - the current standard).
29.05.2025 14:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My EMS textbook, which drilled (over and over) the fact that the French army was the first to (literally) cart wounded from the battlefield in 1790, makes no mention of Freedom House. I only found out about it because it was mentioned on an episode of a medical drama on Max.
29.05.2025 14:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0After Freedom House was closed, a city ambulance service WAS adopted in Pittsburg, which benefitted greatly from the standards its predecessor company put in place. Unfortunately, the Freedom House paramedics were fired or moved to menial, non-technical jobs, and replaced by white paramedics.
29.05.2025 14:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0...by the local mayor who, apparently, had close ties to the police union, which had been in charge of pre-hospital transport (often via paddy wagon!!) prior to the creation of the Freedom House service.
29.05.2025 14:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The service was staffed by 25 black men recruited from The Hill District, an economically depressed, predominantly black neighborhood in Pittsburg. After all the groundbreaking work done by Freedom House, which dramatically reduced pre-hospital deaths there, the program was killed...
29.05.2025 14:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You ever hear about the first modern EMS service in the US, Freedom House Ambulance Service? Neither did I, and I'm studying to be an EMS! This was the program that shaped and professionalized paramedicine in the US and across the globe. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom...
29.05.2025 14:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I don't think it's a coincidence that "what cha makin'?" rhymes with "bacon."
26.05.2025 13:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's such an incel vibe with these AI bros. They don't want to prove to the girl who didn't want to go to prom with them that they are successful and desirable. They want to run her over with their car.
26.05.2025 13:21 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you for the kind words.
26.05.2025 13:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This season asks you to invest your emotions in a character who was hopeful and growing last season and is now flat and static. Worse, she's totally not credible.
It's bad storytelling, and I doubt people who haven't played the game will remember the story a year from now.
Yeah ... It's "visually stunning" which is what we say about all mortally flawed series with bad story and big budgets.
26.05.2025 13:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For premier TV it's weak storytelling and a waste of the equity these characters built up in the last season.
26.05.2025 13:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The continuity and suspension of disbelief needs to clear a much lower bar in that medium where we are basically just looking for new ways to kill zombies.
26.05.2025 13:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Someone over there should have said something to the showrunners of TLOU. This linear, retrograde revenge fantasy where we kill one beloved character from season one and have the other ignore all the lessons and sacrifices of the other is fine for a videogame.
