After the Americans' 51st-state "jokes," and Canadians' War-of-1812 "jokes," I think we have the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup moment:

I'm trying to learn how to use one of the platforms and it seems 2/3 of my feed is ads and I hate it. I can see why Meta wants people to have these apps on their phones but I haven't heard a convincing case from a human I trust why it would be necessary/enjoyable

There are so many times these days that I think "get to the Winchester, and wait for all of this to blow over" is highly relevant advice

In the interests of science, I can't honestly answer this as a hypothetical. Since I am already a not-haver of $90 million, the only way to know is them to give me the $90 million, no take-backsies, and we'll see

Our black Lab cross who is (probably) part border collie is absolutely like this. When he was younger I learned to have two tennis balls to throw -- one for him to chase while I went to get the other he had partly-retrieved.

Do they still have that one relic near the harbour? (Or am I misremembering that -- I thought there was a short-line train that only operated for a few years but the locomotive was placed around there as a memorial.)

My whole week is going to be wrestling, huh? I read this on Sunday and it was amazing. I'd been putting it off because I thought I would get lost in the wrestling and....I did not. And you won't either, if you read it. Unless you WANT to. It'll work for you too! amzn.to/46sNdzc

Let me put this another way:

Top reasons why Cdn-US tourism is down as seen by Canadians:

1. Forced annexation threats
2. Fear of arbitrary ICE arrest
3. General dismay @ new US
4. Tariffs, levied despite USCMA deal

Top reasons as seen by US media/govt:
1. Tariffs generally
2. 51 State 'jokes'

There was a good thread for writers about the publishing industry earlier this week, but I forgot to bookmark it. Does anyone know where I can find it? I think it was making the rounds on Sunday or Monday. And I can't remember more about it than that, alas

Hey, maybe they'll do an All The Years Smaug Sat On HIs Treasure miniseries

I agree -- I loved those artists and the entire 1980s-90s industry of Tolkien art, but those movies were an adaptation for the aesthetics of that tradition. I'm OK with not rehashing it.
