30.01.2026 03:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It breaks my heart to hear this.
This is an open offer to any author reading this if we can help to promote your book let me know.
Everything we do is free of charge.
That's great to hear! Yeah I think for me, in the normal pace of life, it's easy to forget how much work it is to read/research/find markets and figure out what to send them during their reading periods, and then just be ready to send something out again after a rejection.
29.01.2026 23:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0TBH I have not been very organzied about short fiction submissions, I have seemed to do them in waves over the years (some years not submitting any at all). I'm trying to see whether keeping up on it results in more acceptances and/or keeps me writing new stories.
29.01.2026 23:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I take it as a win every time I find a niche or new-to-me market and figure out what I can send to them, and then do it.
29.01.2026 23:06 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I regret to inform myself that having many more stories under consideration does not make endlessly refreshing Submissions Grinder more satisfying or less suspenseful, but it's like logging fitness goals, which is a better way to look at it IMHO.
29.01.2026 23:05 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Also working on writing more stories in stages, ie. developing them more before writing the first draft and having multiple WIPs on the go. Usually I go all-in on one story at a time.
29.01.2026 23:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0My goal of sending out as many submissions as reasonably possible this year is off to a good start: 18 subs this month. (I usually seem to send out 40-ish submissions a year).

29.01.2026 22:52 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I would not be the writer I am without the support of Little Ghost books. They are a hub for the Toronto horror community and beyond. They've been there for everyone with free programming, community events, and supporting indie authors. I sincerely love them, toss the ghosts some coins if you can.
27.01.2026 21:50 โ ๐ 48 ๐ 26 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I definitely do! I don't think I ever write short stories while working on a novel, I tend to do that between drafts/MSs

29.01.2026 03:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If these haven't already been mentioned (I may have missed them in the replies), The Earth: A Biography of Life by Elsa Panciroli, and Vanished Giants: The Lost World of the Ice Age by Anthony J. New enamel pins will drop on my site this Friday 1/30 @ 10 am PST! ๐

Why do I suspect these will appeal to @premeemohamed.com
