For over four decades, the Canada/ESA Cooperation Agreement has led to mutually beneficial activities in a wide range of space activities. From protecting our planet, exploring our Universe, to enhancing our autonomies and resilience, ESA and Canada have been friends a long time, eh? #ESAxCanada๐Ÿ

With all sincerity, Elections Canada is a national treasure.

- Voting typically takes less than 15 minutes
- We make it easy for citizens to vote, without cumbersome registration hurdles
- We have every reason to trust that ballots will be counted fairly, and results reported swiftly

Yeah it's a world of a difference. I've been meaning to learn Siril properly anyway so might as well add SAS to the list too
Thanks!

Yeah I had tried taking the FIT files and stacking it myself using deepskystacker but I never got even close to the results the Seestar did so I eventually gave up
I'll give astro suite a go next time too

Interesting, my attempts were in alt az too. Maybe I need to try stacking in Siril, so far I've just been using the Seestar stacked image

That's so much clearer that my attempts at M51. Did you take it in EQ mode?

Can't seem to figure out the reasons for so much noise. Both nights were extremely clear. Only guess is the fact that it's a Bortle 7 area

Yeah that makes sense. I didn't consider how heavy the S50 would be for a regular ball mount
Might have to do EQ wedge + the Seestar tripod for stability

09.04.2025 13:12 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Did you use an EQ wedge?
I tried EQ mode on my S50 without a dedicated wedge and I was getting a lot of star trails in 20s and 30s. Wondering if it's worth getting one

First decent attempt at The Pinwheel Galaxy (M 101)

Tons of noise last night but managed to pull out some of the colours in the spirals so overall not too bad

Had to darken the background because there was a fair bit of noise. Just wish there was more resolution on M82's starburst locations

Caught a break in the clouds and decided to image the M81 siblings. Can't wait to see how it turns out

Sadly it doesn't look like the Seestar has enough zoom to get proper details on M82

Cloudy skies for the next few days so I thought I'd share some #astrophotography fails.

Make sure your Seestar isn't fogging up else you'll waste a 1 hour exposure ๐Ÿ˜ž

Attempted targets are NGC 4490 (Cocoon Galaxy), M3 Globular Cluster and the Leo Triplet

Andromeda (M31)๐ŸŒŒ

My first astrophotograph from the skies of Canada! M31 is only 2.5 million lightyears from Earth! It's orbited by some smaller galaxies, the largest being M110; thats the bright blob below the main galaxy! ๐Ÿ”ญ
