One of the things I really love about #TalesOfTheValiant from @koboldpress.com is the addition of weapon options to give weapons more flair in combat. Most DMs were home brewing things like this in 5e so it’s nice to have some rules here in the book. #ToV #TTRPG

I watched Artemis I launch from the parking lot of the VAB. It felt surreal when the count finally resumed and the clock kept ticking. Surely something was going to happen that would hold it up. But it just kept going and I got to be there as the fires of the SLS engines turned night into day.

Insanely gorgeous!

My employer wants me to get some certifications and learn some new skills but I have a budget of 5 days for the entire year and I'm tired of spending my time outside of work learning things for work. But hey, AI is coming for my job in the next few years so I guess I should enjoy it while I can.

In addition, on any given day I touch 4-5 different client projects. Some days I will touch code bases for 8-10 projects. The context switching whiplash is real. What I wouldn't give to have 2-3 clients with solid budgets that I can really pour myself into.

All this approach does is lead to half-assed work that meets the client's needs now but is guaranteed to be something we have to "climb over" the next time we go to extend the site functionality. I wish more than anything I could switch careers or find a way to be my own boss with these skills.

Unrealistic budgets and unrealistic client expectations coupled with the fact every web dev has to be a full stack developer nowadays. It is exhausting. I'm so fucking burned out it makes me want to cry...

"Hey Smidge, here is something you've never done before. You have 2-3 hours."

You know what I'm sick of? Lack of mentorship or realistic budgets/timelines. I've been a web developer for almost 20 years now and I'm fed up with being handed tasks for things I've never done before with budgets that leave no room to learn. This is why developers are using AI.
